Moving Cinema Young Programmers at the Filmoteca with Carla Simón

On May 31st it takes place an unforgettable evening of cinema at the Filmoteca de Catalunya with the Moving Cinema Young Programmers and filmmaker Carla Simón.

After the screening of Llacunes, by Carla Simón and Les mains negatives, by Marguerite Duras, we share reflections about the boost of creation, the value of spaces, the editing, the role of memories and forgets during the creation of Summer 1993

A revealing evening that culminates months of word with the Moving Cinema Young Programmers sharing thoughts, screenings, learning, experience, enthusiasm and a lot of love for cinema.

The screening is developed within the framework of collaboration between European project Moving Cinema, lead and coordinated by A Bao A Qu, and the Filmoteca de Catalunya.

Screening of 'Il posto' at the Cines Verdi of Barcelona

On may 17th, within the framework of European project CinEd, Cinema en curs students at the Institut Juan Manuel Zafra (Barcelona), Institut Moisès Broggi (Barcelona) and Institut Bellvitge (L'Hospitalet de Llobregat) share with a lot of emotion the screening of Il posto by Ermanno Olmi at the Cines Verdi in Barcelona.

In the following dialogue we discussed the relationships at work, the first and last shot, the how the film starts and ends with the same shot, the sound and music, the writer character, Domenico and Magalí, the looks and the value of the faces…

Sala Jove D'A 2019

Within the framework of the 9th edition of D'A Film Festival returns the Sala Jove D'A, the section developed by A Bao A Qu and programmed by the group of Moving Cinema Young Programmers at D'A 2019.

In this second edition, the section counts with 10 films, presentations and dialogues with filmmakers Clément Schneider, Jonás Trueba, Carla Simón and Alessia Chiesa.

The films programmed are De chaque instant by Nicolas Philibert; Después también by Carla Simón, filmmaker of the Cinema en curs team; El día que resistía by Alessia Chiesa; L'époque by Matthieu Bareyre; the four films that –for the moment- integrate the project Quién lo impide by Jonás Trueba: PrincipiantesSi vamos 28, volvemos 28Sólo somos and Tú también lo has vividoRuben Brandt, collector by Milorad Krstic; and Un violent désir de bonheur by Clément Schneider. This last session inaugurates the Sala Jove D'A and is presented by the group of Moving Cinema Young Programmers at the Filmoteca.

The Sala Jove D'A, opened to the festival's public, is developed on the April 26th at the Filmoteca de Catalunya and on April 27th and 28th and May the 3rd at the Aribau Multicines.

Moving Cinema Young Programmers at the Filmoteca... and at the D'A Film Festival

On April 26th it takes place the third film session programmed by the Moving Cinema Young Programmers at the Filmoteca who present Un violent désir de bonheur (2018), by Clément Schneider. The film session, very special, inaugurates the Sala Jove D'A, a section of the D'A Film Festival developed by A Bao A Qu, and counts with the presence of the filmmaker.

The Filmoteca's director, Esteve Riambau, and the D'A Film Festival's director, Carlos R. Ríos, introduce the group of young people who presents the film and conducts the dialogue after the screening.

With extraordinary rich and sensitive comments and reflections, they discuss about writing without a script and the assumption of the doubt, the signs of the Revolution, the interior revolutions, the characters of Gabriel and Marianne, about subverting the symbols, the final monologue, about filming the space and the faces, about the actors and life…

The session is developed within the framework of the collaboration between European project Moving Cinema, lead and coordinated by A Bao A Qu, the Filmoteca de Catalunya and the D'A Film Festival Barcelona.

'Si vamos 28, volvemos 28' at the D'A Film Festival Barcelona

On Friday April 26th, within the framework of D'A Film Festival Barcelona six groups of Cinema en curs and Moving Cinema students meet at the Teatre del CCCB to see the film Si vamos 28, volvemos 28, included in the project Quién lo impide by filmmaker Jonás Trueba.

After the screening a very enriching dialogue is initiated with the filmmaker and Candela Recio, Pablo Hoyos and Silvio Aguilar, the main characters of the films: about the improvisation of the film, the force of creating collectively, the need of an honest and true cinema that talks to us as spectators, de creation process, the cinema as a cohesive space…

Young Spectators at D'A Film Festival

In this fifth edition of collaboration between A Bao A Qu and D'A Film Festival Barcelona, students and former students of Cinema en curs and Moving Cinema attend the festival as Young Spectators to a selection of films at a reduced price. In several occasions they have the chance to dialogue with the filmmakers. The ten films that integrate the section Sala Jove D'A, programmed by a group of Moving Cinema Young Programmers are suggested: De chaque instant, by Nicolas Philibert; Después también in dialogue with Carla Simón, filmmaker of the Cinema en curs teamo; El día que resistía, by Alessia Chiesa; L'époque, by Matthieu Bareyre; Ruben Brandt, collector, by Milorad Krstic; Un violent désir de bonheur in dialogue with Clément Schneider; and the four films that integrat –for the moment- the Quién lo impide project and dialogue with Jonás Trueba: Principiantes, Si vamos 28, volvemos 28, Sólo somos and Tú también lo has vivido. To this selection it is also added Ojos negros, by Marta Lallana and Ivet Castelo.

Projecció d'"Estiu 1993" a la Filmoteca de Catalunya

Within the framework of the "Filmoteca per a les escoles" programme at the Filmoteca de Catalunya, on April the 10th and the 12th, students from Institut Antoni Cumella (Granollers), Institut Bellvitge (L'Hospitalet de Llobregat), INS Josep Mestres i Busquets (Viladecans), INS La Serreta (Rubí), Institut Escola d'Hoteleria i Turisme (Barcelona), Escola Cervantes (Barcelona), Escola El Dofí (Premià de Mar) and IES Francisco de Goya (Barcelona) attend the screening of Summer 1993 and the dialogue with filmmaker Carla Simón, from the Cinema en curs team.

After the screening a dialogue opens with sensitive comments and questions answered very generously by the filmmaker: about the desire of making a film about one's own childhood, the characters and the young actors, the locations, the shoots and the camera movements, the sequence in the river, the end…

MOVING CINEMA MEETING IN SLOVENIA

From March 13th to 16th, the second Moving Cinema meeting of 2018-2019 is held in Izola (Slovenia). At the meeting, the experiences developed in the framework of Young Programmers, Young Spectators, workshops with mobile devices and Inside Cinema are shared.

In addition, on Friday, March 15th, a public presentation of the project is carried out in which all the partners take part: A Bao A QuMeno AvilysKijufiCentre for the Moving Image and Otok Institute, who organizes and leads it. The presentation is followed by a workshop on 'Light and Face' aimed at teachers and educators.

Moving Cinema receives Europa Creative MEDIA's support since 2014.

SECOND SCREENING OF 'EL ESPÍRITU DE LA COLMENA' IN GALICIA

On February 26th, in the framework of the European project CinEd and in collaboration with the CGAI - Centro Galego de Artes da Imaxe students of the IES Manuel Murguía from Arteixo attend the screening of 'El espíritu de la colmena', by Víctor Erice.

In the subsequent dialogue, the students talk about the evolution of Ana throughout the film, how it is built through the act of looking, almost without dialogues, the pictorial references, the end, the presence of the train...

SECOND MOVING CINEMA YOUNG PROGRAMMERS SCREENING

On February 22nd, the second screeening programmed by the Young Programmers Moving Cinema in the Filmoteca takes place, in which they present Sans Toit Ni Loi (1985), by Agnès Varda.

The Young Programmers introduced the film highlighting the trajectory of the filmmaker and her feminine and protest look, as well as highlighting how the film stands on the border between documentary and fiction, the multiple readings we can make of it, the landscape from the region of Nimes, the color palette and the weather, the lateral travellings, the improvisation during filming, the great character that is Mona, the witnesses she encounters, her willingness to say 'no', her freedom and her revolution...

The session takes place within the framework of the collaboration between the european project Moving Cinema, led and coordinated by A Bao A Qu, and the Filmoteca de Cataluña.
