The organization

A Bao A Qu is a non-profit cultural organization dedicated to the conception and development of projects that link culture, creation and education. Since 2004, we introduce creation at schools and high schools with the involvement of film professionals, photographers, artists working and other creators.

Prominent among its projects are Cinema in course, Photography in course, Creators IN RESiDENCE at Barcelona secondary schools, and the collaborations with renowned museums and cultural institutions: CCCB, CGAI, Filmoteca de Catalunya, Foto Colectania, MACBA, MNCARS, Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, La Virreina Centre de la Imatge. Another important line of work in A Bao A Qu’s activity is training for teachers, educators and cultural managers.  

A Bao A Qu develops various European projects: Moving Cinema. Methodologies, Strategies and Tools for Children and Young People to Appreciate European Films and Become an Active Audience (MEDIA Creative Europe – Audience Development 2014-2017), CinEd. European Cinema Education for Youth (MEDIA Creative Europe - Audience Development 2015-2018), European Framework for Film Education (Europa Creativa MEDIA – Audience Development 2014-2015), Development and Implementation of Audiovisual Teaching Methodologies for Adult Educators (Grundtvig 2013-2015), and Discovering and building the local and european heritage through the audiovisual creation. A model of cooperation between schools and city councils towards the culture, knowledge and social cohesion (Comenius Regio 2012-2014).

A Bao A Qu is awarded with the Barcelona City Council Award in Visual Arts 2015.
