Exhibition 'The 183'
On Thursday, June 11, first- and second-year secondary students (Years 7 and 8) from Institut Escola Mestre Morera presented their photography project, The 183, at Biblioteca Zona Nord.
The group explored their surroundings through photography by following the route of the 183 bus, which connects the neighbourhoods of Ciutat Meridiana, Torre Baró and Vallbona. This local bus plays a central role in the everyday lives of the students and, more broadly, of the residents of Barcelona's Zona Nord, where the school is located.
In weekly sessions, guided by photographer Ingrid Ferrer, the students identified and photographed the places they feel belong to them: meeting points, shared spaces and meaningful corners of the neighbourhood. The project focuses on both the places and the people who live in or move through them, reflecting on how the uses of public space change depending on who occupies it and the time of day.
